Fear can lead to hate, but fear and hate are not the same thing.
Also, disagreement doesn’t automatically equal fear, NOR does it automatically equal hate.
This is something that the media is currently trying to brainwash people into ignoring.
I see tons of people every day throw around the word “homophobia” like it’s a social referee whistle. Half the time they don’t even use the word properly.
If I was to save a gay man from a burning building (which I would without question), become friends with him, but politely turn down the invitation to his wedding with another man because I disagree with gay marriage (I don’t say this to him, mind you), am I still a “hateful homophobe”?
I hold my tongue too much on this subject. smh
